Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) - Mobile Therapy
What is IBHS (Mobile Therapy)?
Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) includes a support option called Mobile Therapy, which provides individualized mental health care for children, teens, and young adults under age 21 who are facing emotional or behavioral challenges.
Mobile Therapy takes place where children spend most of their time—at home, in school, and in the community—so support is provided in the environments where it can make the biggest impact. This approach helps make treatment more comfortable, accessible, and meaningful for each child.
The focus of Mobile Therapy is to help youth build healthy coping skills, manage difficult behaviors, and improve their overall daily functioning. Families and caregivers are active partners in the process, working together with the therapist to support the child’s growth and long-term success.
How IBHS Works
Each child begins with an individualized assessment that helps create a treatment plan tailored to their unique needs and goals. Therapy is then provided to support progress toward those goals in a structured, compassionate way.
Parents and caregivers play an essential role throughout the process. They learn practical strategies to reinforce new skills at home and support their child’s growth.
IBHS/Mobile Therapy focuses on building core skills such as emotional regulation, communication, problem-solving, and positive social interaction. Evidence-based behavioral techniques are used to address challenging behaviors and help children develop healthier, more effective ways to navigate daily life.
Goals and Benefits
IBHS/Mobile Therapy helps children and teens grow in ways that make everyday life feel more manageable and positive. The program supports youth in reducing disruptive or challenging behaviors, building stronger social skills and improving interactions with peers, strengthening communication at home, in school, and in the community, developing healthy coping strategies for stress, frustration, and big emotions, and increasing independence and confidence in daily routines and activities. By nurturing these skills, IBHS/Mobile Therapy empowers children to feel more confident, form healthier relationships, and thrive in the places that matter most—at home, in school, and throughout their daily lives.
Who Can Benefit
IBHS/Mobile Therapy supports children and teens who may be experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, or Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder. It can also be a helpful resource for youth who are showing serious behavioral concerns at home or school, struggling with anger, or coping with difficult family or environmental stressors that affect their behavior.
Mobile Therapy services are available for children and young adults ages 5–21 who live in Bradford or Sullivan Counties and are covered by Medicaid.
