School Social Work Services

Supporting Students for Success

Northern Tier Counseling’s School Social Worker Program helps ensure that students receive the social and emotional support they need to thrive. Our school social workers partner closely with families, teachers, and community resources to remove barriers that may get in the way of learning.

By identifying concerns early and providing prevention and intervention services, we support students facing challenges such as mental health needs, family changes, financial stress, or bullying. This collaborative approach creates a strong foundation for both academic achievement and personal growth, helping children feel supported, understood, and ready to succeed.

Comprehensive Services

School social workers provide a wide range of supports to help students feel safe, understood, and ready to learn. They offer individual and group counseling, respond to crises, and work closely with families to make sure each child receives consistent care. When urgent situations arise—such as trauma, conflict, or other serious concerns, school social workers step in to provide immediate support while also helping students build long-term resilience and emotional wellbeing. By partnering with teachers, administrators, and parents, they create personalized plans that address each student’s unique needs and help them succeed both in and out of the classroom.

Community Connection and Advocacy

The program places a strong focus on building meaningful partnerships with community agencies so families can easily access important resources like mental health services, housing support, and food assistance. School social workers also advocate for students both inside the school system and outside in the community, helping ensure every child has fair access to the services and opportunities they need.

A commitment to cultural understanding guides all our work. By honoring each family’s background and experiences, we’re able to support diverse communities with care, respect, and compassion.
